Pam Rich, RN, CCM, CDMSCase Manager
Pam has been a KY RN in the Bowling Green and south central KY area for 37 years. She graduated from Western KY University with an ADN. She has 10 years of hospital experience caring for all types of acute care, trauma and post surgical patients concentrating mostly on orthopedic and neurosurgical patients as a unit coordinator. She later began working in public health and served as the clinic manager for the WIC program for 8 years, which greatly expanded her nursing experience and perspective in patient care.
She began her medical case management career in 1990 and found that she very much liked the unique challenge of assisting insurance companies and injured employees. Since many patients in the south central KY area are referred to TN physicians, she also obtained her TN nursing license. She obtained both the CCM and CDMS certifications in order to expand and maintain the highest professional status as a case manager. Since she has been a case manager in that area for 18 years, she is very familiar with the orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons along with other medical specialties in the entire south central KY and northern TN areas that are needed to provide appropriate medical care for injured workers. She has worked for both national and regional case management firms and joined Preferred Case Management in Feb, 2009.
Case management utilizes both her hospital and public health experience to assist adjusters with the assessment of medical records, clarification of diagnoses and appropriateness of treatment along with coordinating medical services, integrating cost effective alternatives and discussing alternative treatment options with the primary treatment providers. She firmly believes that promoting effective close communication with all parties will assist in achieving optimum outcomes in a timely manner.
Pam's territory includes south central and western KY along with northern TN including Nashville, Clarksville, Murfreesboro, and Lebanon, TN.
